Johanne Elster Hanson works as a freelance literary translator, and is available for sample translations and reader reports for both English and Norwegian publishers. She has previously studied translation at the University of East Anglia, and interned with the British Centre for Literary Translation.

In 2020, she received a NORLA bursary to attend the Norwegian workshop at the BCLT International Literary Translation and Creative Writing Summer School, led by translator Kari Dickson and author Mona Høvring.
